Family Members:

Parents : Her parents moved to New York from Pounce, Puerto Rico.
Her Mother, Guadalupe Lopez, is a kindergarten school teacher.
Her Father David Lopez is a computer operator.

Siblings: Jennifer is the middle child, with sisters Linda and Leslie.


Childhood:

Jennifer started taking singing and dancing lessons at the young age of 5. 
At the age of 7, along with her dance class, she went on her first tour 
in New York . Even as a young child, she wanted to become a Performer! 
At age 16, she made her first acting debut in 'My little Girl'

After graduating from high school, Jennifer was attending Baruch university, 
working in a law office and taking her dance classes, but when she read 
about a scholarship to a dance school in Manhattan, she dropped everything 
and grabbed the opportunity. Although her mother didn't approve of her 
choice to become a dancer, Jennifer stuck to her dream and had to leave
 her house as a result of their difference in opinion, and lived in the 
building where she took her dance classes.

She struggled for a while, auditioning without success, almost reaching despair, 
until she started touring with a musical in Japan.


Acting Career:

When she returned, she auditioned for the second time for the TV comedy show 
'In Living Color', and became one of the 'Fly Girls'. On that set, she got 
noticed by the producer of 'South Central' (a coworker's husband), and got 
the part of 'Lucy' on that show. She also acted on the TV shows 
'Second Chances' and 'Hotel Malibu'.

In 1995, she got her first role on the big screen in the feature film 
'Money Train' starring next to Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson, then
 in smaller pictures such as 'My Family/Mi Familia'. But her acting, 
dancing as well as singing talent were truly noticed when she landed 
the role of 'Selena' in 1997, portraying the biography of the 
assassinated Tejano singer. In 1998, she co-starred opposite to George
 Clooney in 'Out Of Sight' and with a 1 million dollar salary; 
she became the highest paid Latin actress in Hollywood history. 
J. Lo has starred in many other movies like 'Blood and Wine' 
(with Jack Nicholson), 'Anaconda', 'U-turn', 'Enough', 
'The Wedding Planner' and 'Maid in Manhattan' ( both debuting at 
number one), 'Gigli' (with off screen fiancé at the time Ben Affleck) 
and 'Jersey Girl' and 'Shall We Dance' (opposite Richard Gere).

Singing Career

Dedicated to her passion for music, J.Lo released in 1999 her first pop album
 'No6'- named after the the no'6' train hich she took to get to her auditions 
in Manhattan. The album had a huge success-6 times platinum, with 'If you had 
my love' a No1 hit single!

In 2001, her second album 'J-Lo' became No1 on the album charts and 7 time 
platinum, had No1 hits like 'If you had my Love' and 'I'm real' a duet with 
Ja Rule.

She even got more popularity with her next album 'J to the L-O'- only the 
biggest selling remix album of all time, with the no 1 hit single 'Ain't it 
funny' (with Ja rule)!

Her success continued to be reinforced in the next album 'This is me…then' 
where she connects with her fans and reassures them that with all the fame 
and money, she remains the same at heart, the girl from the Bronx, 'Jenny from 
the block'.

In March 2005, she released a new Album 'Rebirth', reflecting on her own 
inner feelings of being reborn and back again!

During the set of Selena, Ojan Noa from Cuba, proposed to Jennifer. They got 
married in 1997 then divorced a year later.

She later married the dancer Chris Judd in 2001, but the marriage also did 
not last too long.

She had a romantic involvement with Puff Daddy during the making of the 'J-Lo'
 album.

She got engaged to the Oscar winning actor Ben Affleck whom she met on the 
set of Gigli in 2002. Bennifer received excessive media attention, becoming 
the most talked about celebrity she believes this let to their official spilt 
up in Jan. 2004.

In June 2004, she got married in a very private ceremony to the singer Marc 
Anthony.

Lopez gave birth on February 22, 2008 to fraternal twins, a girl and a boy, 
Emme Maribel Muñiz, and Maximilian "Max" David Muñiz.
